I’m a self-taught wedding planner turned stay-at-home-mom. For as long as I can remember, I have loved entertaining, decorating and styling anything in sight. What started as a passion of mine soon became a business of planning weddings for others. One husband, two babies, three moves and seven whole years of countless weddings later, I decided to lay it all down for the sake of being home with my kids.
In the meantime (cause that wasn’t enough), we bought our first fixer-upper home and I started documenting the progress on instagram. Sharing all of our renovations, my styling projects and decorating tips, entertaining ideas, the do’s and don’ts of home design, and everything in-between. Flash forward a few years later, and I’m so grateful to have created an online community of fellow home-lovers inspired by all things design, entertaining, decor, gardening and styling. We even have a love for a good fashion find, and of-course those motherhood moments too.
I love a collected look with southern, traditional design at the forefront. Followed by touches of modern and coastal to really set it apart. A mix of old and new, that’s never been seen before, is so inspiring to me. I also think the perfect vignette includes a budget-friendly find, with a noteworthy-splurge. It’s just a beautiful combination. We currently live in good ole Rocky Top, Tennessee – where we are putting down roots, slowly updating our stately southern home, raising our family, trying our hand at gardening, traveling as much as we can, finding Joy and Peace in the everyday, and sharing it all with you.
I’ll leave you with this. Home takes time. Before we know it, life will have passed us by. Throw the dinner party in the midst of the mess. Use the fine china on a Tuesday. Have a friend over for coffee even though the house is a wreck. In my years of entertaining and designing, I’ve learned to gather together with those you love no matter what it looks like. Don’t wait.
