I’m so pleased with how this DIY floor mirror turned out!! It was my first major DIY project (ya know, with actually having to use a saw & such) and my goal was to not ask for my husband’s help at all. He’s wonderful and extremely helpful when it comes to my project ideas, but I just knew I could tackle this on my own.
It all started with this long wall in our bedroom that has a door right in the middle of it (behind the mirror in the picture above). The door leads into a walk-in storage area that we access often and to be honest, I HATE that the door is right in the middle of the wall. I asked T about a thousand times if we could just relocate the door to no avail.
So, I needed to get creative. I needed to find a way to cover it, but also still have access to it and that’s when a massive floor mirror came to mind. I did a quick search for 7ft tall mirrors and everything I found was so beautiful, but waaaaay more than I wanted to spend. So I started to explore ways to create a floor mirror, and I came across this DIY mirror tutorial by The Sorry Girls.
I followed their steps closely, while also adjusting a few things here and there to make it my own. Even though it took me an embarrassing long time to complete, I’m SO pleased with the end result. Check out the highlight bubble “floor mirror” on my insta for behind the scenes!
