Fall Front Porch

I have challenged myself the past couple of years to use items that I already have to decorate my porch for fall. I get soooo excited for the new fall season (heck, any season), that it’s very easy for me to go out & purchase a bunch of new decor items that I DON’T NEED. The goal here is to welcome in the new season with minimal, but noticeable changes. I’m not trying to look like the aisles of Hobby Lobby.

So what do I do? I usually let ONE new item inspire me & run with it. This year it was these adorable bushel baskets. You see those rustic looking baskets in the picture above? Holding the mums? Yeah those. Aren’t they the cutest!? I thought they would bring a nice element of fall to my front porch without overdoing it.

After that, the only other fall-inspired items I purchased were this buffalo check rug, mums & fall plants, and these sweet little pumpkin picks to stick in my planters. Everything else I had!

I’m able to reuse a lot of the pieces I already have because they are neutral and easy to fit into any holiday or color scheme. This doesn’t mean that there can’t be color, but it allows me to invest in the pieces that I really love because I know that they’ll get used often. Then, you can throw in your seasonal color in easy, more affordable ways! Like the ribbon on the wreath? That could be a nice burnt orange color or a buffalo check pattern. The little white pumpkin picks? You could do orange instead of white!

I hope this helps! You can check out the behind the scenes on my instagram. Everything is saved to a highlight bubble on my profile. From my porch to yours, happy fall!
