Recently, I shared on IG a verse that I like to speak over my children when we’re having a tough moment. It’s Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Whether it be in the midst of a meltdown, at the brink of a bad mood, or honestly even just driving down the road on an ordinary day – I’ll say it out loud and keep going. Most of the time, I don’t get a response, which I don’t really expect given their ages.
But a few weeks ago, after a tough morning, we eventually got outside and I heard my four year old from across the yard, shout, “Today is the day the Lord has made!” Stick raised high in the air like he was going to battle. The sight made me giggle, and then it stopped me in my tracks. All this time he had been listening. Maybe not actively listening (or maybe so), but either way it landed on his heart and in his mind and he remembered it. I could’ve cried. It hit home for me and it was a huge encouragement to keep speaking life over them even when I don’t feel like it’s working.
Then a few days later our pastor shared a verse that he speaks over his daughter, and it sent me on a little hunt (along with my IG community) to find more. There have been lots of great verses shared, so I decided to compile them into two pretty graphics to save for quick reference. I’ve loved reading through all of these scriptures. Other than saving to my phone, I’m planning to print these out, laminating, and putting them in my car to read aloud when we are at a red light or waiting at a drive-thru. I’d love to hear how you will use these too!

I’ve included a variety of ways to download from the list below. A PDF if you wish to print, JPGs for your camera roll, and a lock screen option as well.
